This kiva jar represents Zuni pottery design styles notable for the partitioning of the design field into two main parts; a white banner design surrounded with black painted bands above a orange-colored pot base. It is believed that Ancestral Puebloans used Kiva Jars to store special materials such as planting seeds, weaving and ritual supplies.
