Plush 11" Elk
The Elk you see today in Grand Canyon National Park are not the native species that once roamed the forests on the South Rim. Merriam's Elk, a native sub-species, were hunted to extinction in the early twentieth century. Rocky Mountain Elk, from Yellowstone National Park, were transplanted in the area around 1913. They made their way to the South Rim in the 1970's.
This soft plush has plastic eyes and is not recommended for children under the age of 3.
